FAQ

What should I bring for class/open gym?

  • Clean indoor running shoes.
  • Gym attire (shorts or athletic pants/joggers and a t-shirt).
  • A water bottle

Can I sign the waiver in advance?

Yes! We encourage you to fill out the waiver ahead of time.

What will the class consist of?

Each class starts with warm up activities, a reminder about safety and rules, and movement or obstacle introductions led by our expert parkour coaches. From there, we will practice a variety of parkour skills, and learn to run parkour lines.

What is the skill level required for parkour?

There is no prerequisite to be able to do parkour. Parkour is for everyone and can be done at varying degrees. In fact, practising parkour will actually help you become both more fit and coordinated.

How many coaches will there be?

We run our parkour classes with a ratio of 6 athletes to 1 head coach.

What ages do you teach?

We have classes for a wide range of ages 7 and up. Please see below for our age groups

Junior Classes: Ages 7-10 Senior Classes: Ages 11-15 Adult Classes: Ages 16+

Junior Transition: Ages 7-12 Senior Transition: Ages 13+

How are you ensuring my safety?

All of our coaches are first aid certified and have been trained on how to properly set up and traverse all parkour lines and equipment. All coaches communicate rules and obstacle safety demos at the beginning of every class to minimize the risk of any injuries.

Are there any family discounts for multiple children?

Yes! We offer a 10% overall discount on your monthly fees for registering 2 or more athletes under the same household membership.

Is parkour dangerous?

Like any other physical activity there will always be some risk of injury, but usually that risk is quite low. Some media outlets may portray parkour as being "dangerous". This is in fact incorrect, as parkour trained/practised properly is considered a safe form of movement. Generally, parkour is not performed recklessly and/or in an unsafe environment. With proper progression parkour is safe and can be performed by anyone. Again, we pride ourselves on providing a fun and safe learning environment.

Can I cancel my parkour training?

If you would like to cancel your semester-based parkour training, the following fees apply:

○ Cancel between March 15 and April 1: $50+GST fee

○ Cancel between April 2 and the start of your class: $100+GST fee

○ Cancel after the start of your first class: No refund or credit given

○ If your athlete requires a medical withdrawal, you must provide a doctor’s note that states the period of time that the athlete can’t participate. There will be a charge of $26.25 and the remaining fees will be refunded.

If you would like to cancel your parkour transition training, please submit a cancellation request through the Membership Management Portal.

Any membership requests received during the final 7 days of the month will incur a $25 administration fee.

Can I add or remove a class, or switch to a different class?

For semester-based Parkour: Unfortunately, class switches are not possible once a semester has begun.

For transition classes: Yes, you can, but any changes to your membership must be made prior to the last 7 days of the current month. These changes will take effect starting on the 1st of the following month. Change requests must be sent via the Membership Management Portal.

Please note that our classes have capacity limits and we therefore cannot guarantee your spot in a new class. The more notice given, the higher the chance that a spot will be available.

Any membership requests received during the final 7 days of the month will incur a $25 administration fee.

Are there any make-up classes if I miss a class?

No. Since our classes have a limited capacity and are almost always completely full, like most kids sports we unfortunately are not able to offer make-up classes for absences or missed classes. This includes absence due to sickness, planned vacations, etc. If Fitset Ninja needs to cancel a class for whatever reason, we will offer a makeup class or provide a credit or refund for the cancelled class.

Can I pause my membership?

For semester-based Parkour: Unfortunately, you are unable to pause your membership.

For transition classes: Yes, you can temporarily pause your membership for up to 3 months per calendar year (we’ll hold your spot in class). A fee of $35+GST per month per athlete will be applied during the pause period.

Please submit your request through the Membership Management Portal.

Do classes run on stat holidays?

Classes will not run on statutory holidays. However, as some months in the year contain 5 weeks and we do not alter the monthly fee for these months, the number of classes available for you to attend will even out, even if some of your classes happen to land on a statutory holiday.

What if I missed the semester registration?

If you missed the semester-based registration for Parkour, you can still join our Parkour Transition Classes, which help bridge the gap until the next available semester.
