Julie is one of the new coaches at Fitset Ninja but has been a lover of fitness and movement for most of her life. She also loves working with kids and has coaching experience in parkour and calisthenics. Julie grew up playing team sports such as basketball, badminton and competitive soccer but has now found her passion for freestyle calisthenics.

She first started the sport without any gymnastics background back in 2018 and has competed in battle of the bars at the San Diego Fit Expo in 2019. After starting a family in 2021, she is back and ready to compete. She will be competing in the Empress of the Bars Battle set in Brooklyn, New York this upcoming July. FAQ

What is the general class structure for the hour?

The first 10-15 minutes of each class will start with a general warmup to get your core temperature up, your blood flowing, and your muscles loosened up and activated. Then, the following 30-35 minutes will be a combination of either practicing skills or a circuit. The final 5-10 minutes will be a cooldown.

    What should I bring?

    • Clean indoor running shoes.
    • Gym attire (shorts or athletic pants/joggers and a t-shirt).
    • A water bottle

Do I have to be fit to join?

Certainly not! Our Fitset Sweat for Beginner fitness class will be your introduction to fitness. We will be covering the fundamentals of movement in a novice-friendly and safe environment.

Can I sign the waiver in advance?

Yes! We encourage you to fill out the waiver ahead of time.

What is the skill level required for the Fitset Calisthenics series?

You should come with a base of fitness which includes the ability to do several pull-ups, a dozen push-ups, several ring-dips, and the willingness to try new and adventurous movements including handstands, and swinging on a bar.

    Should I warmup before class?

We always run a group warmup at the beginning of every session, so coming warm is not a prerequisite.

How am I going to feel after my first class?

If you're not used to strength or cardiovascular conditioning, you will be sore in your muscles for 2-3 days after your first session. We suggest plenty of water, some stretching at home, and maybe even a hot bath.

How are you ensuring my safety?

All of our coaches are first aid certified and have been trained on how to properly lead a group fitness class.

    What are your Covid-19 policies?

Due to the often changing nature of covid-19 rules in our province, please take a minute to read our Covid-19 Policies.
