FAQ
-
A ninja competition is an event that is hosted by a Ninja gym. The host gym designs courses for participants. Courses are a series of obstacles in succession. Athletes receive points based on how many obstacles they successfully complete within the course time limit.
Competition courses are designed to test athletes’ balance, strength and speed. The goal is to successfully complete the most obstacles in the quickest time. Competitions are an amazing chance for athletes to test the skills that they have learned in a structured environment, have fun or advance to future competitions.
Competitions have different registration requirements. Many are open to all interested participants! When an athlete registers for a competition, they will be required to select their appropriate age and sex group. Prior to the competition, the host gym will provide a run order for registered athletes. This indicates when your athlete’s group runs, and when their specific event will be.

Our Edmonton and Calgary facilities both host competitions throughout the year. Fitset Ninja hosts competitions on behalf of the Canadian Ninja League (CNL) and the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association (UNAA). Our competition schedule is designed to give athletes the opportunity to qualify for finals in each of the CNL and UNAA leagues.

Canadian Nationals
CNL is the governing body in Canada for Ninja. CNL hosts the Canadian Nationals and defines the rules that most competitions in Canada run under. From CNL Nationals you may be eligible to qualify for a world’s event, run by the National Ninja League (NNL) in the United States.
UNAA does not host a national event for Canada. But it does host a world's event in the States.
Age Category
Both CNL and UNAA base the athlete age category that you compete in on the athlete’s age on January 1st of the current year.
Membership
For CNL, your athlete must purchase a membership before competing in order to potentially qualify during a CNL competition. For UNAA events, there is no additional membership purchase required.
